Home Right Steam Machine Plus

I am all about finding the easiest, yet most practical way to do something. I have talked before about these "one hit wonders" and one thing I sometimes cringe at, is needing multiple items in order to do one job. When Laura from HomeRight asked if I would be willing to review their new HomeRight SteamMachine Plus, I absolutely jumped at the opportunity. Awhile ago I had tried out theirHomeRight SteamMachine Multi-Purpose Power Steamer and absolutely couldn't be more happy with it!  I knew after my experience with the power steamer, that I wouldn't be disappointed with theSteamMachine Plus! And the SteamMachine Plus surely did NOT disappoint!

The SteamMachine Plus Multi-Purpose Steam Mop is a versatile cleaning machine, that makes cleaning quick, easy, and chemical free. It can disinfect your floors (killing 99.9% of germs), including laminate, tile, vinyl, linoleum, hardwood, and yes, even CARPET.

Not only is it an excellent floor cleaner, but the Steam Mop also can become a handheld steamer and using the 6 attachments, can get any item clean it seems. Rugs, shower glass doors, grills, pillows, beds, oven doors, to just name a few.

The six attachments include a nozzle, scraper, nylon brush, bonnet, grout cleaner, and squeegee. The handheld steamer does wonders for those hard to reach places. It is about the size of a handheld vacuum and is easy to carry, without the bulkiness. I have enjoyed cleaning so many items that I have been ignoring because I did not have the appropriate tool to clean them, like my oven door, grout, and floor.

Skoy Cloth and Giveaway

Each Skoy Cloth is 100% Biodegradable and Natural. One Skoy cloth can replace up to 15 paper towel rolls! They come in a variety of colors so they will fit in any kitchen! I love Skoy cloths because they are extremely absorbent and can be reused and washed in you dishwasher or washer/dryer. They last a long time and can clean just about any mess.

I also got to try out their Scrub Cloths. I was really excited to try these because I hate using sponges to try to clean pots and pans. I love that I can use these and just throw them in the washer when I am done instead of trying to clean them off and getting upset because I don’t want to use the sponge again. I am very glad that Skoy came out with these, because I would still buy sponges to be able to use the scrubbing side, but with these I can just continue to use Skoy products. I do wish that they had a double sided Skoy cloth with a scrubber on one side, so hopefully I will get lucky and they will come out with one!

I highly recommend Skoy cloth to anyone looking for an easy way to save money and the environment at the same time! You can find them on their website here.

Nature Pedic Kapok/Cotton Pillow

When I was offered a chance to review their Organic Kapok/Organic Cotton pillow, I was ecstatic.

But first I needed to know what kapok was.  Turns out kapok, also known as "silk cotton," is the lightest natural fiber in the world, with a density that is almost five times as light as regular cotton.  It allows Naturepedic's bedding to feel light and fluffy, and since the fibers are hollow, they can function as a thermo-regulator.  Resistant to water, it can wick away moisture, something that can help if you child is a sweaty sleeper.  Naturepedic's kapok is certified organic, ensuring fair treatment of workers while being free of synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, GMOs, chlorine bleach, endocrine disruptors, plastisols, non-biodegradeable detergents/degreasers/surfactants, and carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic chemicals.

That sounds good to me.  The pillow is filled with a 50/50 blend of organic kapok and organic cotton.  The certified organic cotton is also free of the toxins mentioned above.  It is grown with natural fertilizers, innovative weeding techniques and beneficial insects.

The outer cover is made from 300 thread count organic cotton.

My first impression was how soft the pillow is.  I've generally found organic cotton to be softer than regular cotton but the combination of the 50% kapok filling and organic cotton outer lining of the pillow seemed to really help in that department.  Of course, I covered the pillow with a cotton pillow protector and an organic cotton pillowcase so, unfortunately, I didn't feel feel the softness of the outer lining of the pillow when I slept but I was still able to enjoy the luxury of the plush pillow even with the protector and cover on it.  As a side-sleeper, I also found that the pillow remained supportive and comfortable through the night.

Unlike the Naturepedic Organic Cotton/PLA Pillow, which is machine washable, this pillow is spot clean only.  While I wish I could just toss it into the laundry, I'm sure with a pillow protector and pillowcase, we will be able to keep it clean in the long run.  And if it is a concern for you, you could always use two pillow protectors.

In conclusion, if you're looking for an environmentally friendly, non-toxic pillow, I highly recommend the Naturepedic Organic Kapok/Organic Cotton pillow.

Wowbutter and Giveaway

WowButter is a PEANUT-FREE, soy, peanut-butter replacement. And the amazing thing is that it tastes almost identical to peanut butter.

Peanut butter connoisseurs will notice a difference, there is a slight discrepency in texture, but the pros far outweight a minimal texture difference. I can only imagine how amazing this must be for someone who has a peanut allergy, to be able to join in on some of the cultural staples of North America. To, potentially, have a peanut butter and jam sandwich for the first time ever. Ants on a log; peanut butter cookies; a spoonful of delicious-protein filled-comfort food.

There are many slow feeders out there, but this one is unique in that it is a device you can attach to any bowl to make it a slow feeder.  You can choose from 3 different sizes depending on the size of your bowl, and it has a strong suction so it can attach to the bowl and prevent your dogs from taking it off (easily, at least).  It is simply a plastic bone, which acts as a "canopy", attached to a suction.  By having the device in the middle of the bowl, it prevents the dogs from putting their entire face into the bowl, and forces them to take only small amounts of food at a time.  Petco sells the large one for US$7.99, medium for $6.99, and the small for $5.99.

Loving Pets Bella Argyle Bowl

These have a stainless steel interior.  And then a plastic exterior, making them super duper lightweight.

There is a removable soy-based rubber ring that helps prevent the bowl from skidding across the floor.
The bowls are dishwasher safe and I didn’t see until later that it’s recommended to remove the rubber ring before washing.  I never did that and the rings still look great.
I never knew different food/water bowls could REALLY be so different. Unlike most cheap bowls that I have purchased in the past, Loving Pets stays in place no matter how much your pet tries to move it. It truly is skid resistant. I havent noticed any rusting either which is a bonus. I have really hard well water that typically rusts stainless steel bowls very quickly, no matter how often I wash them.  Over-all I love Loving Pets Bowls! I will definitely be purchasing these bowls again!

Winning Moves Splash Cards

Splash Cards are floating cards that can be played in or out of the water. They are lightweight and washable. I love that they are also educational and fun. The Splash Pals have different characters separated into three parts: heads, torsos and legs.

They also have Splashimals, which have animals and their name broken up into two cards for kids to pair up or mix and match to create new, silly animals. I love that this game has the letters as well as pictures for an added educational connection. Each set comes in a compact mesh bag that makes cleanup a breeze. I was concerned about the possibility of residue being left after the Splash Cards were placed on the walls of our tub but after the tub drained and we took the cards down there were no marks or residue.

In addition to Splashimals and Splash Pals Winning Move Games also carries Splash Jack and Splash Jack Royal, which are Floating Playing Cards. They are normal playing cards that can be used in or out of the water. I don’t plan to use them normally because they are a little thicker than conventional playing cards but they would be fun to play on the beach, poolside or in the pool.

These fun Splash Cards are perfect for summer fun! In addition to the Splash Cards Winning Moves Games has brought back a classic in Touring that was originally introduced in 1906. The goal is to collect the right amount of cards to make a 550-mile road trip while throwing delays on the other players with penalty cards. It is a fun family game for up to six people ages seven and up. I love the unpredictable element that the penalties bring and I also like that it reinforces addition and math skills in a fun way.

Red Leaf Tea

For me, my first encounter with matcha was love at first taste. The first time I had it was in a smoothie at my favorite juice bar. It was creamy, intense, and filled with green tea goodness. I couldn't get enough. It actually became my favorite drink. Not long after, matcha gained a lot of popularity, and now you can find it all over---even at Starbucks (Green Tea Frappuccino + extra matcha = amazing)!

Now you might be wondering, "What is Matcha?"

Matcha, also sometimes spelled "Maccha" is a high quality, finely ground green tea powder. This creates a strong, but sweet flavor. Whether you simply enjoy the strong flavor, or need a natural energy boost in the morning or early afternoon, matcha is a great option.

I received a sample of Red Leaf Tea's caramel flavored matcha for review. It can be enjoyed hot or cold, and I have tried it both ways. I use 2 tsp per 8 oz. milk, which is double the amount instructed in the directions. I used a whisk the first time to incorporate the matcha into warm milk, and it did leave lumps. The best method is to use a food processor or blender to mix it, so it is nice and smooth. With 2 tsp, I think it has a nice, pleasant flavor. Red Leaf Tea matcha seems to have a more bitter flavor than some matchas which is not my favorite. I am not personally a big fan of the caramel matcha, but I look forward to trying the vanilla matcha sometime in the near future!

Red Leaf Teas offers a wonderful matcha that is 100% natural, 0g of fat, no MSG, no food coloring, no artificial sweeteners, and no preservatives. It is also low-calorie, at only 4 calories a serving. Red Leaf Teas has over 100 flavors to choose from, and it is also affordable, at under $1 per serving. If you love the Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino just like me, Red Leaf Tea even has a green tea that is comparable to the Starbucks one

Big Slice

I have always loved any kind of fruit including cooked fruit. My family loves all kinds of crisps, pies, applesauce, etc. I was recently asked to try the new BigSlice Apples products from Grandma Hoerners.

These apples come in easy to eat 4.5 ounce pouches. They come in different flavors including cinnamon French toast, Pineapple Passion Fruit, Cherry Vanilla, and Raspberry Hibiscus. They are kettle cooked apples that come with a mix of apple slices, chunks and sauce. Each package is less than 100 calories

I really enjoyed these apples. They are so good eaten plain or would be great on top of plain Greek yogurt. My favorite flavor is the cinnamon French toast because it tastes similar to apple pie but with much less calories. I would also eat this sauce on top of oatmeal, pancakes, French toast, waffles or wrapped up as part of a sweet breakfast wrap. Every flavor of these apple slices was enjoyable.

Drop it. Dissolve it. Drink it. Those are the quick instructions Chicago-based BE Innovations Inc. gives for the use of its quarter-size ZYM electrolyte tablets. The small effervescent drops, which fizz and dissolve in water like Alka-Seltzer tablets; are made to ease the process of converting plain water into a vitamin-fortified, electrolyte-rich sports drink.

Zym is a good alternative to your typical sports drink. It's super flavorful with a bit of fizz. It also works great, it quenches your thirst and it even helped with cramps after i went for a run. I highly recommend Zym to anyone who does any sort of physical activity!

7th Heaven

I love that 7th Heaven is committed to quality, all-natural products.  They are willing to go the distance (literally and figuratively!) to bring the best of the best to these at-home mud masques.  Clay and mud from places like Thailand and Morocco will soothe your skin inside and out while essential oils from Africa bring out the very best, too!  I received the Detox Mud and Clean Up Mud masques to try.  As of tonight, I have only had a chance to use the Detox Mud, as I try to do a masque like this just once a month.  The Detox Mud Masque has Dead Sea mud, glacial mud, white tea, witch hazel and aloe vera, along with other natural components to penetrate deep inside your pores and really pull out the grime!  This mask goes on smoothly and starts working right away!  It has a light, minty scent, which is refreshing and relaxing.  As it dries, you can feel a light, pleasant tingle in your skin.  The masque does dry pretty firm

The 7th Heaven mud masques are all-natural alternative to expensive store mud masques that contain harsh chemicals that destroy your skin.  At around $3 per pack (and less than $2 each if you buy the Discovery pack!), this is an affordable alternative to a regular facial and gives you beautiful results!  My skin is clearer, softer and even less red than usual!  I love how much smaller my pores look and am looking forward to trying the other varieties of mud masques!
